The Great Wall of Oakland
September 5 ~ December 5
This 100 by 100-foot outdoor wall overlooks the busy intersection of Grand Avenue and Broadway in the bustling center of Oakland's Uptown District, surrounded by restaurants, condominiums and galleries. Now in its second year of programming, the Great Wall of Oakland is the canvas for exciting experimental media art by contemporary regional and international media artists as well as classic film and video selections. Screenings are held after dark on the first Friday of each month, the night of the monthly Oakland ArtMurmur gallery walk.

15th Annual Días de los Muertos/Days of the Dead
October 8 ~ December 2
The museum's popular tribute to the Mexican/Central American tradition of honoring the dead. Altars ofrendas and installations by local artists, schools, and community organizations. Hayward artist and educator Fernando Hernandez is guest curator.

The return of the multi-tasking mushroom: from delicacy and dye to medicine and environmental ally. A weekend of displays, demonstrations, talks, chefs, vendors, and kids' activities.

Come have tea at the Estate and host their 38th annual holiday tradition with a exquisitely decorated mansion, musical entertainment, Breakfast with Father Christmas, homemade crafts, demonstrations and more.

Holiday Caroling
December 12 ~ 21
Enjoy a unique view of Oakland as your Water Sleigh takes you on a voyage around Lake Merritt. Tours glide past the 18th Street fountain, through Christmas Cove, returning to the Boating Center where complimentary cookies & hot cider await you.
